In addition to the area's largest selection of used CDs and vinyl albums, 45 singles and 78s, we feature an expanded selection of new CDs and LPs, used DVDs, and a variety of collectible items including posters, photos, music magazines and books. A one-stop shop for serious music fans. "We opened Vinyl Shack because we just didn?t have room at Euclid Records to display all our albums and CDs," explains Joe Schwab, owner and founder of the stores. "Even with two stores, we were definitely beginning to run into pro blems getting all our stock out. Now, with a single store and more than double the space, we can showcase everything we have in stock in one convenient location."

And to coincide with the opening of the new store~ the Web site has been completely updated - providing Internet customers with a fresh new look and a user-friendly search engine to quickly locate any of the 50~000 items available for purchase. "We're going back to the single name~ Euclid Records~" states Schwab. "It's a name that Euclid Records~ founded in 1980 at 6 N. Euclid~ built a solid reputation as one of the top used record stores in the Midwest. Soon that location became too small to handle the store's growing inventory of albums and CDs. Schwab moved the store to nearby 4906 Laclede in 1988. The Vinyl Shack was opened in 1996 to specialize in LPs~ while the original location focused on CDs. Over the past several years~ the stores have attracted national attention making Rolling Stone magazine's list of top independent represents two decades of offering customers the best in recorded music and collectibles. And now~ we'll have a new location with the space to showcase all of our stock. We're even building a stage for live performances and we plan special video events most evenings." |
